Squids

Features and Benefits

Of the diets denominated as fresh (polychaetes, squid, mussels, clams, etc.), the squid is the one with the highest level of protein (84.5%) and the lowest lipid content (3.1%), however the HUFA portion of the total lipids is very high. (Meunpol 2005).

Squid meat is an excellent source of cholesterol which is an essential nutrient for shrimp growth that also produces a successful performance in broodstock. Of the total lipids present in the squid mantle, 18% is cholesterol, which represents the highest value in comparison with other fresh diets.

Squid provides an important source of protein, essential amino acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet of shrimp broodstock.

Normally, fresh diets supplemented with dry pelleted or microencapsulated diets are used to provide the minerals and vitamins that natural products may lack.

We offer 2 varieties of squid (according to availability) in 2 presentations:

Illex Argentinus squid, size 80-150 gr in boxes with 2 bags of approximately 10 kg
Loligo Patagónica size 10/12 gr in boxes with 1 bag of 10 kg
